The Roxie Remley Center for Fine Arts is holding its All Fired Up- Winter Exhibition and Sale through Saturday, December 7.
The sale is the perfect opportunity to grab some last minute unique holiday gifts, while exploring the different mediums of art our community works to support.
Handmade pottery, jewelry, ceramics, fiber art, prints, paintings, and illustrations are on display from local and student artists. The majority of every sale goes back to the artists with a small percentage going towards funding and developing the visual arts programs at the Averitt Center.
All Fired Up was started in 2013 by partnering with Georgia Southern University’s Betty Foy Sanders Art Department to continue the tradition of the Club Mud Art sales from many years ago.
Kim Riner, The Averitt Center Visual Arts Director, and a graduate of the MFA program at Georgia Southern University was heavily involved with the sale and wanted the students at the Averitt Center, community artists, and Georgia Southern art students to have the opportunity to sell and share their work with the community.
Riner says, “The business side of making art isn’t the most glamorous, but an essential part of the education of an artist.” She says that the All Fired Up sale provides a perfect space for this.
“The sale benefits the Statesboro community as well,” said Riner, “as they have the opportunity to buy one of a kind, handmade artworks for themselves and others.”
All Fired Up remaining sale days are Friday from 10am-8pm and Saturday from 10am-2pm.
The Roxie Remley Center is located at 31 E. Vine St. (near the rear of City Hall), Statesboro, GA.
