Fine arts learning center Enya Studio could come to Pearland

Pearland Planning & Zoning Commission recommended a conditional-use permit for a fine art studio and learning center in a 1,200-square-foot lease space on Smith Ranch Road at its Dec. 2 meeting.

The gist

The studio, named Enya Studio, will be large enough to host two to three small classes at once, according to city documents. It would offer art education, including painting, drawing and other forms of visual arts.

The studio also offers a summer camp featuring 2D art classes, ceramic lessons and weekly trips to the Houston Museum of Fine Arts, studio owner HongLiang Huang said.

The business currently has another location in Sugar Land, and opened a second location in Cypress in 2023, Huang said.

Quote of note

“Currently, we have more than 400 students across Pearland and we want to bring the magic of art to Pearland with a new local studio,” Huang said.

Looking ahead

Enya Studio will need to go before Pearland City Council for approval in order to begin building the studio.
