LELAND — Lynda Saunders Walker, age 79, of Leland, North Carolina, passed away peacefully on November 25th, 2024.
Lynda was born on June 8th, 1945, in Leland, North Carolina, the daughter of loving parents, Richard and Lois Saunders.
Lynda graduated from Leland High School in 1963. She had a strong interest in the arts and was actively involved in work for the Art Council of Wilmington, North Carolina, before moving to Atlanta (Dunwoody), Georgia, in the late 1970s with her two sons. There, she enjoyed a long and successful career as an executive meetings planner with LOMA, a life office management company based in Atlanta. Her career afforded her extensive worldwide travel, during which she developed a great fondness for Indian and Japanese art and culture.
After finishing her career, Lynda moved back home to North Carolina to be closer to family, living in Ocean Isle Beach for many years before settling in Leland for her remaining years.
Lynda especially loved her pet dachshunds, plants, antiquing, and crafting. She had a unique knack for creativity, with the ability to craft something original and beautiful out of almost anything. Lynda always had an exquisite fashion style.
Remaining to cherish Lynda’s memory are her sons, Richard Wayne Walker and Gary Christopher Walker; her daughter in-law, Julie Elizbeth Walker; her grandchildren, Keith Richard Walker, Miles Christopher Walker, and Quinn Peterson Walker; her sister, Evelyn Hall; her niece, Becky Hall Clark; her nephew, Carlton Hall Jr; and a long list of loving family members and incredibly caring friends she made along the way.
Lynda will be deeply missed by all who knew her. Her kindness, creativity, and loving spirit will live on in our hearts forever.
Please leave condolences for the family here.
