Beauty Garage Professional: Pioneering Innovation in the Hair Care Industry


Mahesh Ravaria, CEO and Co-Founder of Beauty Garage Professional has been in the industry for over a decade. “Our journey started in 2011 with a small retail store in Mumbai, and over the years, we have grown to become a leading professional hair care brand in India,” he says.

When asked about the idea behind linking the name “Garage” with beauty and hair treatments, Ravaria explains, “We used to import brands and conduct training sessions for our models. There was a mechanic nearby who would repair cars, and we thought, why not have a ‘garage’ for hair repair too?”

Beauty Garage Professional has been at the forefront of innovation in the hair care industry. “We introduced the Botoplexx treatment, which allows for same-day colour and treatment, eliminating the need for a 15-20 day waiting period,” Ravaria says, adding, “We also launched a Shea-based product line, which was a first in the professional hair care industry.”

The brand has a strong focus on education and consumer awareness. “We spend a significant amount on consumer awareness and education, as we believe that’s key to our growth,” Ravaria says.

Beauty Garage Professional has a robust R&D team in place, led by Ravaria’s brother, Jigar. “My brother focuses solely on R&D, and we keep updating and upgrading our products to stay ahead of the trend,” Ravaria says.

In terms of sales, the brand is strongest in the Western region of India. “West comes first, followed by North, East, and South,” Ravaria says. “However, we are looking to strengthen our presence in the South, which is dominated by chain salons and associations.”

When asked about the challenges of expanding in the South, Ravaria cites language barriers and a slower adoption rate. “However, we are working with local partners and investing in education and awareness to overcome these challenges,” he says.

Beauty Garage Professional is positioning itself for growth, with a strong focus on innovation, education, and consumer awareness. As Ravaria says, “We believe in being innovators, and we will continue to launch new and exciting products to stay ahead of the trend.”
