Golf Television has to be Better Than The Showdown

Well, that’s four hours I won’t get back.

The Showdown was another made-for-television event where golf was played in primetime, mainly under the lights, with some banter from the players in an attempt to create entertainment.

Unfortunately, playing in primetime and under the lights produced nothing close to entertainment. Then, we could consider the golf, which produced nothing of interest or what one reviewer calls a “BoreFest.”

When Bryson DeChambeau’s puffy jacket was one of the few highlights of the show, along with the Charles Barkley commentary, it makes most of the remaining four hours similar to watching paint dry.

Played at Shadow Creek in Las Vegas, it was billed as a head-to-head confrontation between the LIV Golf League and the PGA Tour, Bryson DeChambeau and Brooks Koepka for LIV, and Rory McIlroy and Scottie Scheffler for the PGA Tour, it never met that goal.
