FAYETTEVILLE – The city has published a draft of its Arts and Culture Plan, inviting public feedback before finalizing the document.
Developed over 18 months with input from residents, stakeholders, and experts, the plan outlines priorities for guiding the city’s arts and culture initiatives over the next decade, according to a news release.
Residents can review the draft plan and provide comments until Monday, Dec. 30. The document is available on the city’s website at https://www.fayetteville-ar.gov/4316/Arts-and-Culture-Plan. Feedback may be sent to Joanna Sheehan Bell, the city’s arts and culture director, at [email protected].
The plan is described as a visionary roadmap designed to strengthen the city’s creative ecosystem over the next decade. Developed through staff research and input from over 1,250 community members, the plan identifies five community priorities: cultivating the arts community, sustaining economic and funding strategies, enhancing creative spaces, activating public spaces through placemaking, and establishing Fayetteville as a regional leader in arts and culture. It provides strategies for funding, program development, and partnerships to achieve its goals.
The plan is scheduled for presentation and discussion at the Jan. 21 City Council meeting. As with all non-consent agenda items, public comment on the plan will also be heard during the council meeting.
