WWE has seen different types of storylines play out in its decades-long operation. However, those who always get the fans going are the ones who blur the line between what’s real and what’s not. The company has even gone above and beyond by incorporating real-life issues by adding family members of superstars in storylines.
There have been several instances where WWE Superstars would tap into the personal life of their opponent to add more heat to their rivalry. The most notable ones are Edge attacking John Cena’s father in his family home, Seth Rollins crashing in Edge’s house, Triple H attacking Randy Orton in his home, and more. However, there are also unique cases where superstars would get physical with their own family members.
For this list, we will look at four WWE Superstars who disrespected their own families on live television.

#4. and #3. Shane and Stephanie McMahon settled their family feuds on WWE television several times
The McMahons are one of the most well-known families in wrestling. Not only were they responsible for building the biggest wrestling company in history, but Shane and Stephanie McMahon didn’t back down from fighting their parents on television.
Shane didn’t step into the ring with his father much, most of the time they would just exchange words and the latter would get another star to do his dirty work. However, that wasn’t the case when the father and son fought each other in 1999.
On the other hand, Stephanie McMahon has laid a hand on both her mother and father several times on television, mainly by slapping them. During the March 2000 episode of SmackDown, Steph insulted her mother and belittled her before hitting her.
#2. Dominik Mysterio had several instances of disrespecting his family
Dominik Mysterio’s hatred of his family has been ongoing for a while. This topic always lands him in hot waters among fans. He mostly disrespects his father, Rey Mysterio, during interviews and even on television. However, there were also times he insulted his mother and sister.
In March 2023, while Dom’s mother was sitting at ringside, Dominik called her a deadbeat mom and told her to shut up. At WrestleMania 39, he continued the disrespect by pouring water on his sister.
#1. Charlotte Flair once slapped Ric Flair on WWE television
The father-and-daughter duo of Ric and Charlotte Flair is possibly one of the most successful out there in wrestling. The Hall of Famer has a record of a 16-time World Champion while The Queen is quickly catching up to his record. While they remain close in real life they have a rocky on-screen relationship.
In December 2016, the Hall of Famer returned to television after being initially disowned by her daughter. The segment was planned to be Charlotte’s public apology to her father, just as it seemed like they were about to hug, The Queen slapped Ric which reduced him to tears.
