That leads to around 2,000 road deaths every year.Of course, all of the rules of the road still apply during the colder months, but drivers should be especially cautious when the temperatures drop.Driving trips for the cold include not tailgating, slowing down and not using cruise control while on slick roads.Before hitting the road, drivers should take care of a few things on the winter checklist.
