Francis Parra, Artistic and Executive Director of Teatro ECAS, announced the hiring of Jorge Rivera as Manager of Strategic Partnership and Revenue.

After a short search, Teatro ECAS has brought on Jorge Rivera to manage the areas of the theater company that concern earned revenues and marketing.  Rivera will be driving strategies for ticket sales, group sales, and subscriptions, as well as community partnerships, concessions, and theater rentals.

“I am so happy to welcome Jorge to the Teatro ECAS family,“ says Francis Parra, Artistic and Executive Director. “We have a unique opportunity now in our new theater, Nuevo Teatro in the Valley Arts District to open our doors to many more people from the Hispanic community and he is coming onboard a a perfect time.  Jorge is a long time friend of the theater, having performed in La Dama Duende in late 2022 and has a terrific blend of business and arts skills.  He is totally bilingual and has a very strong background in performing arts, having toured with Disney Productions and is coming off a ten-plus year career in management in the airlines.  He is a great addition to our full-time staff, and he works really well with the administrative and artistic staff.”

“Joining Teatro ECAS represents one of those times in my life when I felt like I came home,” says Rivera.  “It feels fantastic to be able to get back to being in the arts industry and motivated my professional growth into adulthood. That transition was important to me because working in theater allows me to truly use my skills for this amazing organization while staying close to my inner child. That is a dream come true. I have known of Teatro ECAS and Francis ever since I moved to Rhode Island in 2015. I always felt connected to our mission, even before I took an acting role. With that said, being part of the Teatro ECAS team is truly an honor, and I plan to use the best of my capacities to always achieve the goal of connecting with our community while enhancing the Latino arts scene in New England.”

Jorge Rivera Biography

With nearly 10 years of on-stage work as an actor, performer and entertainer, Jorge began his career in March 1999 with Disney World in Orlando, Florida. While in Florida, Jorge attended the theater department at Valencia Community College where he wrote and directed a few plays. In the meantime, Jorge also worked in numerous shows at Universal Studios before he decided to join a Disney World Tour. Jorge became the Dance Captain of this Disney touring show and performed in 26 countries, including Japan, Taiwan, China, Singapore, India, Malaysia, and Spain. Mostly for family and academic reasons, Jorge decided to leave the show business aside for a while in 2009. Ever since then, he focused on completing his degrees in psychology, working as a producer in a TV show, and, more recently, his leadership role in Airport Operations.

A native of San Juan, Puerto Rico, Jorge has an associate’s degree in Theater Arts, a bachelor’s degree in Psychology, and a master’s degree in Forensic Psychology. One of his current goals is precisely to assist in creating cultural awareness through theater and other related events. Jorge is the youngest of four siblings. He married his wonderful husband, Wilson, and they share their Rhode Island home with their three amazing dogs, a cat, and several chickens.
