IB Parks & Entertainment acquires Big Kahuna’s Water Park in New Jersey

IB Parks & Entertainment has announced the addition of Big Kahuna’s Water Park in West Berlin, New Jersey, US, to its expanding collection of attractions. Previously known as Sahara Sam’s Oasis, Big Kahuna’s Water Park provides year-round, island-themed enjoyment for families throughout the tri-state area.

The park features more than 70,000 square feet of water attractions housed beneath a state-of-the-art retractable roof, along with a seasonal outdoor water park. Ideally situated just 20 minutes east of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, and 45 minutes west of Atlantic City, Big Kahuna’s range of indoor and outdoor attractions positions it as a top destination for water-themed fun throughout the year.

Potential for collaboration

“We are excited to welcome Big Kahuna’s Water Park to the IB Parks family,” says Gene Staples, CEO of IB Parks & Entertainment.

“This acquisition aligns perfectly with our growth strategy, and we see great potential for collaboration with our nearby Clementon Park location to provide our guests with options to visit both Big Kahuna’s year-round water attractions and the outdoor fun at Clementon Park.”

IB Parks & Entertainment manages a varied collection of theme parks, water parks, and lodging across a number of states. Their offerings include Indiana Beach Amusement & Water Park Resort, IB Campground, and Indiana Beach KOA in Monticello, Indiana, as well as Clementon Park & Splash World in Clementon, New Jersey, and Niagara Amusement Park & Splash World on Grand Island, New York.

Elsewhere, Great Wolf Lodge opened its first resort in Florida last month. The new resort is home to an indoor water park, adventure park and more entertainment offerings. Providing Great Wolf Lodge’s “next generation” resort experience, the new $250m site in Naples has 500 rooms, a 92,000-square-foot indoor water park, a 61,000-square-foot adventure park, and many retail and dining options.
