Artrageous 2025 – Sensory Friendly Theater, an “outrageous adventure of arts,” will be at the Union County Performing Arts Center (UCPAC), 1601 Irving St. in Rahway, on Sunday, Feb. 23 at 2 p.m.
The Artrageous performers create inclusion via live art, rock music, imaginative movement, vocal performances, comedy, blacklight Bunraku, and Artpunk wear.
The Artrageous troupe’s nod to various art forms, icons and musical genres throughout the afternoon culminates in a gallery of finished paintings. They ask guests to “feel the anticipation to see if the artist will complete the painting in time, and guess what is being created up until the very last brushstroke.”
They note, “From the very beginning of our long history, we’ve been known for interaction and engagement… so be prepared to be a part of the show. Each show is as unique as each audience, and we can’t do it without you!”
This sensory-friendly performance is adapted for children and adults with autism and other sensory sensitivities. It is presented by the Union County Board of County Commissioners.
Tickets are $15 to $25 and can be purchased online at ucpac.org, by calling the box office at 732-499-8226, or in person at the UCPAC box office.
