When is the Detroit Auto Show? Here’s the list of dates and times


DETROIT, MI – Whether you’re a motor enthusiast curious about the latest automotive innovations or just looking to spend a day looking at some cool cars, the Detroit Auto Show offers something for everyone.

The Detroit Auto show will take place between Friday, Jan. 10 and Monday, Jan. 20 at Huntington Place, 1 Washington Boulevard in downtown Detroit. Here’s a list of what to expect.

Media Day

The 11-day event will kick off with a “media day” from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Friday, Jan. 10. Media credentials for the Detroit Auto Show will be available to working members of the press.

The first day of the event will allow access to the show floor for media members and will feature a media-centric slate of events.

Events will include the announcement of the 2025 winners of the “North American Car, Truck and Utility Vehicle of the Year” awards. The NACTOY awards will be followed by the “EyesOn Design Awards,” which recognize exceptional production design and concept vehicles debuting in the past year, organizers said.

The Detroit Economic Club’s annual Auto Show Luncheon will follow the award presentations.

The first day of the show will end with the annual “charity preview” from 5 to 10 p.m.

Public shows

The annual event promises attendees 10 days of cars, vehicle showcases, music and more with “public shows” starting at 10 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 11. The show will be open to the public from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Jan. 11-14 and Jan. 17-19. Public showings will take place 1 to 8 p.m. Jan. 15-16 to allow time for the “Industry Days” events.

The final day of the event will be open to the public from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. Monday, Jan. 20. The day will feature special programming for the Martin Luther King Jr. Day holiday.

Industry Days

Members of the automotive industry are exclusively invited to a two-day showcase of mobility tech collaboration. Here are the Industry Day events taking place from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 15 and Thursday, Jan. 16.

  • Mobility Global Forum – Presentations from tech innovators and “industry disruptors” in the fields of mobility, design, technology and talent.
  • AutoMobili-D technology showcase – Previews of the latest mobility innovations from a variety of global companies.
  • Future Leaders Forum – A new program that invites more than 1,000 high school and college students to visit the show to learn about career opportunities and training options in the automotive and mobility industries.
