The Centre for Black and African Arts and Civilisation has praised its Director-General, Aisha Adamu-Augie, for promoting arts and culture.

According to a statement on Saturday, the centre’s staff commemorated her one year in office.

Ms Aisha Adamu-Augie had implemented various initiatives to promote African arts and culture, both locally and internationally, said the statement.

According to the statement, Ms Adamu-Augie’s efforts in repositioning the centre had yielded significant results, with CBAAC becoming a hub for cultural exchange and enrichment.

It noted that Ms Aisha Adamu-Augie had upheld the strengthening of cultural ties between Nigeria and China. It added that this led to signing a memorandum of understanding with the centre’s full participation at the 2024 United Nations Chinese Language Day celebration.

“Under Aisha Adamu-Augie’s leadership, CBAAC’s commitment to fostering international cultural exchange, promoting artistic innovation, and celebrating Africa’s rich cultural legacy has been upscaled.
