During a recent appearance on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert, David explained: “One summer after my freshman year in college, I was just looking for work and my mom said: ‘Well, you can be a process server for me.’”
David then cautiously shared his ‘80s brush with fame, telling Stephen: “Once… Oh man, thank goodness I’ve never run into him since, but… I served Rod Stewart.”
David did not reveal who Rod, now 80, was divorcing at the time, however, the music icon split from his first wife, Alana Stewart, in 1984 — the same year that David turned 18.
Reacting to a clip of David’s revelation on the chat show, many couldn’t help but think of his long-suffering Friends character’s reputation for divorces.
