Scarlett Johansson talked about her legal fight with Disney over the release of Black Widow in a recent interview, and she said that she got support from people who had nothing to do with the case.

In an interview with Variety, she said, “I couldn’t even walk through a restaurant without somebody saying, ‘Good for you. Stand up for yourself.”

“I could see that it had a bigger impact,” said the 38-year-old. “I got support from strangers that have no skin in the game at all.”

Scarlett sued Disney in 2021 because they released her movie Black Widow in cinemas and on streaming services simultaneously, which was against the contract.

She said that putting the movie on streaming services hurt its chances at the box office and cost her millions of dollars in possible income.

When she talked about how hard it was for her during the case, she said, “I was sad and disappointed… Suddenly, your entire attention is drawn to this miracle of life. So, I had the most wonderful distraction in the world and soon after had a beautiful baby.”

The Lucy star went on to say that even though the fight with Disney got ugly, she still has good relationships with many creative people there and can separate the creative people at Disney from their business department.

“I believe in the magic of Disney,” she told him.
