Kent-Sussex Industries (KSI) has received a generous $4,000 grant for its Artist in Residency Visual Arts Program from the Delaware Foundation Reaching Citizens with Intellectual disABILITIES (DFRC).
The grant will cover the entire cost of the Arts program, said KSI Director of Community Relations Alicia Hollis.
KSI is a not-for-profit agency that provides vocational training, employment, community integration, transportation, day habilitation, life enrichment, and nutritional services to individuals with disabilities throughout Sussex and Kent Counties.
Hollis said 60 to 80 of KSI’s program participants were able to take advantage of the program, adding that she does not believe the 2025 program will be able to serve more people.
“In interacting with folks during and after their art activities, I’ve seen how some have come out of their shell, willing to try something new and to enjoy the end results of their efforts,” she said.
KSI. is committed to ensuring that no person is excluded from participation in or denied the benefits of its transportation services based on race, color, or national origin, as protected by Title VI in the Federal Transit Administration (FTA) Circular 4702.1B.
