‘Real Housewives’ Star Kandi Burruss Responds To Dismal Restaurant Review By TikToker Keith Lee

Television personality Kandi Burruss has acknowledged a poor review of her restaurant by TikTok food critic Keith Lee.

The former MMA fighter turned restaurant reviewer has gained a massive platform for visiting mom-and-pop food joints struggling to stay open. As his 14.4 million followers know, a positive review from Lee can completely change the trajectory of a local business. Many owners report seeing a skyrocket in sales (including a 900% increase in revenue for one owner) and having lines around the block thanks to what fans have dubbed the “Keith Lee Effect.”

In a recent review, the TikToker shared his experience at the Old Lady Gang restaurant, owned by Burruss.

Lee says he attempted to make a take out order via phone and Door Dash to no avail. His family was given a wait time of an hour and a half to be seated for in-person dining – but when he stepped through the door, the time was cut short to five minutes.

“My mom, my mom-in-law, my sister, they’re all paying customers just like me. So I want them to be treated just like me,” he said.

In a TikTok response, the Real Housewives star explained she doesn’t want to “overwhelm the kitchen” with takeout orders because they’re extremely busy on the weekends.

“Outside of that, I want to thank Keith for even trying to show up to our restaurant and show us love. Thanks for trying to bring your family by,” she said. “Maybe next time we’ll still get a chance to serve you.”

Despite living in Las Vegas with his wife and two daughters, Lee travels regularly to big cities to visit local eateries and share the power of his influence.

His recent trek to metro Atlanta, however, has been an “insane” experience — and it’s all thanks to the complex house rules of different restaurants.

For example, one spot Lee visited doesn’t take individual checks, allow parties bigger than four people, or make modifications of menu items even if the meal contains allergens. Additionally, they don’t take reservations “unless you’re Barack Obama.”

Rapper Cardi B also weighed in on Lee and the “bougie” rules of Atlanta restaurants in a recent IG Live.

“I feel like Atlanta restaurants… they don’t like to make money,” she said. “I feel like they don’t like people, they don’t like customers, they just don’t f—–g like it.” She continued, saying ordering food can be a “hassle” despite dropping her name at local joints in the city.

Out of the restaurant owners who have responded to Lee’s feedback, Burruss appears to be the most professional.

Earlier in the week, when Lee recorded his failed attempts to order at another popular restaurant called The Real Milk and Honey, the owners responded by pretending not to know who he was in a now poorly received TikTok. Lee’s original video reached over 20 million views in four days.

From TikTok to Twitter, people are now making memes of the interaction, sharing their poor experiences eating out in Atlanta, and criticizing The Real Milk And Honey.

“Instead of The Real Milk And Honey for taking ownership for… maybe having rules that weren’t conducive to good business, you doubled down on trying to attack the most prolific food reviewer in America,” user @zachinATL said in a TikTok with 1.8 million views.

“We don’t have to go to your restaurant. You are not doing us a service by serving us. We are doing you a service by coming to your establishment and being a patron.”
