CORAL GABLES, Fla. – Colorado State women’s golf closed out their fall season in strong fashion on Tuesday shooting an 8-under 280, to post the best round of the day at the Hurricane Invitational. The performance helped CSU move into sixth place for the tournament, finishing at 2-under, 862.
Two Rams ended up inside the top 15 in Andrea Bergsdottir and Pemika Arphamongkol. Bergsdottir tied for eighth after shooting a 5-under, 67 Tuesday. It is the second time this season she has shot a round in the 60s. The graduate student had six birdies on the day and finished the tournament with 12.
Arphamongkol also had 12 birdies for the invitational on her way to a tie for 12th finish. She shot her tournament-best round with a 2-under 70 Tuesday. Like Bergsdottir she placed six birdies on her scorecard in the final round. Overall, she was 3-under for the tournament.
Tuesday marked the end of a successful fall season for Colorado State that included finishing sixth or better in all four events, including winning the Ptarmigan Ram Classic in record fashion. Individually, the Rams had nine top 10 finishes in the fall.
Colorado State returns to competition in the New Year when they travel to the Collegiate Invitational hosted by Virginia in Guadalajara, Mexico at the Guadalajara Country Club.
