The 76th Annual Cannes Film Festival Will Feature Blackpink’s Jennie

It has been announced that Jennie from the K-pop group Blackpink will be at the 76th Cannes Film Festival for HBO’s The Idol. The singer and rapper are going to the event for the first time.

Around April, the event said that The Idol would be in the “Out of Competition” category. When the invitation was made public, Jennie’s agency, YG Entertainment, confirmed that she had been invited, but she had not yet chosen if she would go.

But on May 11, her company said, “Jennie will attend the Cannes Film Festival on May 22.”

The famous singer The Weeknd and the creator of Euphoria, Sam Levinson, made the show The Idol. It’s about a singer named Jocelyn, played by Lily-Rose Depp, who falls in love with a cult leader, played by The Weeknd.

With her part in the show, she will be playing for the first time, both abroad and at home. It is said that the show’s first episode will air at the event, which will run from May 16 to May 27.

The Idol will be able to be streamed starting on June 4th.

Aespa, along with some other K-pop singers who will be there for their movies, will also be there as ambassadors for a jewelry band. They’ll be the first K-pop group to ever go to the event.
