SHREVEPORT, La. (KSLA) – Applications to be part of the 49th Annual Red River Revel Arts Festival are now open.

The applications for visual, music, and performing artists are open for the 2025′s 49th Annual Red River Arts Festival. Since 1976, the Red River Revel Arts Festival has offered an immersive experience through art activities, entertainment, food, and cultural traditions for approximately 60,000 people each year. The festival features visual artists, four performance stages, food booths, and a children’s art education area.

The festival is set to kick off Thursday, Sept. 25 – Sunday, Sept. 25 and Thursday, Oct. 2 – Sunday, October 5th.

“Visual and performing arts are the hallmarks of the Red River Revel and set the festival apart as an arts experience of high excellence,” said Logan Lewis, executive director of the Red River Revel. “The jury process for visual artists is extensive and carefully organized. We also take a great deal of pride in offering a wide range of music & performing arts in both discipline and style. The goal we set out to achieve at the beginning of each year is to put together visual and performing art rosters that are dynamic and extraordinary; showcasing the highest quality of artists originating locally, regionally, and from around the world.”

Visual Artists:

• All artworks must be original, designed, and handcrafted by the exhibiting artists. No commercial reproductions will be allowed.
• Categories: Ceramics/pottery, computer & generated ‘art’, fiber, glass, graphics & printmaking, jewelry, metal, mixed-media, oil & acrylic, photography, sculpture, watercolor, wood.
• Artists may only exhibit and sell work in the category for which they are accepted.
• All artists will be evaluated and selected to participate based on a blind jury process. The deadline to apply for the jury process is May 2, 2025.
• Acceptance notifications ill be sent out May 23, 2025, at which time juried artists must complete the contract and pay the deposit for booth fee by July 1, 2025. Full booth fees will be due in full by August 1, 2025.
• Application fees are $40.

Booth costs:

• 1st Weekendend Standard Booth (Sept 25-28) $550
• 1st Weekend Double Booth (Sept 25-28) – $1,100
• 2nd Weekend Standard Booth (Oct 2-5) – $550
• 2nd Weekend Double Booth (Oct 2-5) – $1,100
• Both Weekends Standard Booth (Sept 25-28 and Oct 2-5) – $900
• Both Weekends Double Booth (Sept 25-28 and Oct 2-5) – $1,700

Music: Solo artist/Live band

• Music applications will be considered by a committee and selected based on artistic quality, educational, and entertainment value, and frequency with which the submitter has recently performed at the Red River Revel.
• Applications for music and performing artists allow for the festival to organize a large number of people who would like to play or perform at the Red River Revel by reviewing style, best fit, and availability, and further allowing focus on putting together a high degree of variety in genre, discipline, and artistic style.
• The deadline to apply is May 2, 2025.
• There is a non-refundable application fee of $10.

Performing arts

• Performing arts applications will be considered by a committee and selected based on artistic quality, educational, entertainment value, and frequency with which the submitter has recently performed at the Red River Revel.
• Applications are open to dance, film, poetry & spoken word, drama & theatre, magic & puppetry, opera, vocal ensemble, and musical theatre.
• The deadline to apply is July 1, 2025.
• No application fee is required for performing arts.
