Celebrating Black History Month in Atlanta

A Tribute to Black Art
In celebration of Black History Month, “A Tribute to Black Art” annual charity concert will be held at the North River Church of Christ. This is the 3rd year of the concert, and Black artists – musicians, dancers, and poets will get together for the performances of a delightful evening.
The vendors at the event will be local black-owned businesses selling food, clothing, accessories, and more. The total proceeds from the ticket sales, along with a percentage of vendor sales, will support the projects of HOPE worldwide.

BAF’s Black History Month Open Mic Night
The Black Achievement Fund welcomes guests to a night of live entertainment with talented artists and performances. The Black History Month Open Mic Night will celebrate talented creatives and will have live music, poetry, games, trivia and other creative arts.
The vibrant atmosphere and ambiance of the venue invite everyone to express themselves freely and get the chance to connect with folks with the same vibe.

African-American Folktales
Experience the African storytelling tradition live in an event that educates and entertains with rich folklore of African-American culture. African-American Folktales event will have tricks of Anansi & Brer Rabbit, to the vibrant beats of the talking drum.

Black History Stage Production “The Journey”
Experience the stage production of “THE JOURNEY,” written and directed by Teletha Patton, this Black History Month. The theatrical journey will go through the significant moments in Black history through time and will be filled with emotion, culture, and inspiration. There will also be a delicious dinner that comes with the ticket. Among all the shows, this will be the Special “Dinner Theater Show,” ideal for a romantic Valentine’s date.

John Lewis: Good Trouble Screening
A free screening of “John Lewis: Good Trouble” will be held to celebrate the civil rights activist and congressman Lewis. Presented by the Atlanta Downtown and WABE, the screening will be followed by a panel discussion with Atlanta civic leaders.
The will be a lobby fair before the screening, which will feature activities by the National Center for Civil and Human Rights. Moreover, the first 200 people to show up will receive a free birthday treat to celebrate the leader’s birthday.

BHM Winter Health & Expo Summit 2025
Black Health Matters is bringing its Winter 2025 Health & Expo Summit for the first time ever in Atlanta. The event aims to empower Atlanta’s black community on issues relating to their health and wellness.
Attendees will have a full day of interactive programs, which will include discussions on disease management and prevention. Faculty will also share evidence-based insights, and the Guru of Abs will help attendees create a fitness routine. There will also be free health screening for those who visit the event venue.

Atlanta Black Expo
Atlanta’s Largest Black Business Marketplace, bringing together a wide range of Black-owned companies across industries, will happen during this Black History Month. The Atlanta Black Expo will feature 100+ Exhibitors and 20+ Speakers. Visitors are encouraged to spend more money at the Black businesses as an expression of support. There will also be Workshops, Food/Beverage and Black Liquor Tastings & Competition, and more.
