Strawberry Square announces free live music series in Harrisburg


 

Strawberry Square is bringing live music to downtown Harrisburg via a new “Music Series.”

In partnership with the Harrisburg Development Corporation and Cheers Harrisburg CEO Sara Bozich, the music series will kick off on Feb. 21. The shows are free to attend and will be held from 6-9 p.m. on the third Friday of most months of the year.

The shows will be held at Strawberry Square, located at 320 Market St., Harrisburg. In a press release, Strawberry Square said it will extend its hours on those days, adding that street parking in downtown Harrisburg is free after 5 p.m.

The scheduled acts so far include:

  • Feb. 21: Dustin Douglas & The Electric Gentlemen
  • March 21: The Super High-Tech Jet Fighters with special guest TBA
  • May 16: Tanjo & Crow with special guest Virginia Masland
  • June 20: Le Ghast with special guest TBA
  • July 18: Barkley Cove with special guest TBA
  • Aug. 15: Meaghan Farrell
  • Sept. 19: The Jeremy Edge Project
  • Oct. 17: Public Disco Porch
  • Nov. 21: Aortic Valve
  • Dec. 19: TBA

Guests will also have the opportunity to participate in the series VIP Program, which includes special prizes like a swag bag for attending six concerts and access to a special VIP event inside the UPMC Clock Box if you attend nine shows. Attendees can also purchase food and beverages from different pop-up vendors.

“We’re thrilled to showcase the UPMC Clock Box Stage and transform the Strawberry Square Atrium into a hub for live entertainment,” Bozich said in the press release. “This music series adds an exciting new dimension to 3rd in the Burg, offering city dwellers and visitors a vibrant way to experience downtown while bringing a much-needed boost to the area.”
