A local arts non-profit’s latest show celebrates the wide world of colour.
From 1 to 3 p.m. on February 15, Headwaters Arts will host an opening reception for its new exhibition, “Colour”, at the Alton Mill Arts Centre.
A total of 38 works of art, created by 28 different artists, will be on display at the show.
The show features artwork in a variety of mediums including: acrylic, clay, textured sculpted paper, watercolour, oil, dye on silk, textiles, glass mosaic, mixed media mosaic, fibre, and mixed media.
Haley Marfleet, an artist from Amaranth, is featured in the show.
“Colour is the most important component in my work. Without it, my paintings would not provide the same emotion and feel. It is what draws people in and captures their attention. I love working with bright, vibrant colours in my work to convey happiness and joy,” said Marfleet.
“Colour” runs from February 12 to March 16 in the Headwaters Arts gallery at the Alton Mill Arts Centre. The gallery is open from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Wednesday to Sunday.
