BRYAN-COLLEGE STATION, Texas (KBTX) – Local organizations are working together to make Aggieland Art Trail and public artworks more accessible.
Destination Bryan and the Visual Arts Society of Bryan-College Station (BCS) have teamed up to launch a digital version of the Aggieland Art Trail. The mobile trail allows art enthusiasts to take the map along the ride as they appreciate artworks across the twin cities.
“Having a full list in front of me and being able to see, you know, all the different places and all the different really unique artwork that I didn’t necessarily know existed, either,” Lina Adams with Destination Bryan shared on why she’s excited for the new access. “So, now being able to go around town and experience those for myself is a really fun thing, and it will also lead you to other hidden gems here in town.”

The Aggieland Art Trail takes visitors, community members, and art connoisseurs throughout the twin cities to get an up-close perspective of the local art scene. It also offers visitors a free tour throughout the area and has informational biographies on all featured artworks.
“Being in the tourism industry, we value art heavily because art creates places that people want to spend time. It makes our places beautiful,” explained Adams. “I think that that’s ultimately really important.”
The original Aggieland Art Trail began in 2021 when two art enthusiasts started documenting the hot art spots around town. One of those recorders were Wendy Keeny-Kennicutt, now president, of the Visual Arts Society of BCS.

“So many people come here, and they’re all about the university, which is great. I taught there for 30 years,” she said. “But they’re not aware of all the art that’s all around in both Bryan and College Station.”
With more local artwork than ever before, Keeney-Kennicutt told KBTX she wants people to know they don’t have to travel to see beautiful works of art. Instead, all they have to do is walk down the street.
“We just want people to love art the way we do and to understand how important it is,” added Keeney-Kennicutt.
