Trade fairs, exhibitions, rallies: All the car-related events of 2025


The year 2025 began, as usual, with the world’s largest technology event, the CES in Las Vegas, from 7 to 11 January. In Japan, the Tokyo Auto Salon was held almost on the same dates, while in Europe, the Brussels Motor Show was more important than ever, given the number of car manufacturers present. So what else is in store?

If you want to keep abreast of the latest car news, here are all the key dates for 2025. And there are some in the UK too.

The CES in Las Vegas is an event dedicated to consumer electronics, which no longer includes the automotive sector, and takes advantage of the opportunity to showcase high-tech solutions and concept cars related to the digitalisation and automation of cars. Among the companies present this year are Pininfarina, Hyundai-Kia, Mercedes, Honda and the Italian digital technology company ART.

The Tokyo Auto Salon is an important stop for racing cars and tuning. In the pavilions of the Makuhari Exhibition Centre in Chiba, you can admire countless modified cars, mainly Japanese, in a unique setting. Toyota, for example, unveiled a new 2.0 turbo petrol engine with 400 PS, while Subaru and Daihatsu also unveiled new models.

From 10 to 19 January, the Brussels Expo hosted many interesting debuts, including Leapmotor and BYD. The Renault 5 was voted Car of the Year and there was a record number of official participants: 63 brands were present, 7 world premieres and 14 European premieres.

The Walter E. Washington Convention Centre in the US capital is the perfect setting to preview the latest models in the star-studded market. With 70,000 square metres of exhibition space, the show features the latest innovations from US brands, independent exhibitors and a large selection of classic cars. There will also be a focus on electric cars, with in-depth coverage, test drives and areas dedicated to zero-emission models.

The 27th Monte Carlo Historic Rally is one of the most eagerly awaited events for motoring and vintage car enthusiasts. This year it will stop in Turin, and sixty of the 225 cars taking part in the famous world rally, organised every year by the Automobile Club of Monte Carlo, will set off from Piazza Castello. On Thursday 30 January 2025, the Piedmontese capital will host an event that will attract motoring and vintage car enthusiasts from all over Europe, thanks to the collaboration between the Automobile Club of Turin and the Automobile Club of Monaco.

The Porte de Versailles Exhibition Centre is once again the venue for Retromobile, one of Europe’s leading classic car fairs. As well as original exhibits, spare parts, restored cars and accessories, car clubs from all over Europe will be taking part.

The ICE St. Moritz (21-22 February 2025)

On 21 and 22 February, The I.C.E. will return to St. Moritz, the historic car event in the Swiss Engadine, which will reopen its doors after a one-year break in 2024 due to excessive snowfall. Also for the 2025 edition, a number of vintage supercars are expected in the Swiss town, which can hardly be seen in such a setting with dynamic activities on ice.

Retro Classics Stuttgart (27 February – 2 March 2025)

Retro Classics Stuttgart 2025 is one of the world’s largest gatherings of classic car enthusiasts. Located in southern Germany, the show has established itself as the central meeting place for the classic car industry. There are also shows, a large parts market and the opportunity to buy classic cars.

The Geneva Motor Show is no longer being held, but this year the first AutoXperience is being held in the same city . It partly takes over the format of the Motor Show in Brussels: cars are presented by the Swiss branches of the manufacturers present, with the collaboration of the dealerships and the possibility for visitors to test drive and perhaps buy the cars.

The 21st Shanghai International Automobile Industry Exhibition (Auto Shanghai 2025) will be held at the National Exhibition and Convention Centre from 25 April to 2 May. According to the organisers, the planned exhibition area for the auto show is 360,000 square metres. The last edition of the event was held from 18-27 April 2023 and featured 1,413 vehicles, including 513 NEVs.

The Concorso d’Eleganza Villa d’Este is one of the world’s most prestigious events dedicated to classic cars, characterised by the elegance of the event, its long and illustrious tradition, the stylish setting of the Grand Hotel Villa d’Este on the shores of Lake Como and the opportunity to admire around 50 classic cars built between the 1920s and 1980s in various categories.

The title of Best of Show of the Concorso d’Eleganza Villa d’Este 2024 went to the 1932 Alfa Romeo 8C 2300 with Figoni body, owned by the Belgian HM Collection.

1000 Miglia (17-21 June 2025)

1000 Mile

The 2025 edition of the 1000 Miglia will take place from 17 to 21 June. Among the innovations planned for this 40th edition, which will be held over five days for the third consecutive year, is the unprecedented “figure of eight” route, inspired by the original pre-war editions.

After the postponement of the 2024 edition due to modernisation work at the Autodromo Nazionale di Monza, the MIMO, or Milano Monza Motor Show, will return in 2025. The fourth edition of the open-air event is scheduled for 27-29 June 2025, once again in the centre of Milan and at the Autodromo di Monza.

MG celebrates 100 years at the Goodwood Festival of Speed 2024

The Duke of Richmond’s Park in Goodwood is the famous venue for the annual Festival of Speed. The increasingly popular event attracts fans from all over the world, not least because of the famous 1.16 miles climb where supercars, hypercars, concepts and historic cars compete. It is also where car manufacturers show off some of their most powerful new models or celebrate their anniversaries, as MG did last year.

The small American town of Monterey, California, is now well known, at least among car enthusiasts and the greatest collectors of fine automobiles. For a week, during the days when the Concours d’Elegance of the same name is held in nearby Pebble Beach, Monterey hosts Car Week: the streets are filled with powerful and luxurious cars from all over the world, manufacturers take the opportunity to present world premieres of many new models, and prestigious auction houses organise dizzying sales.

The Best of Show 2024 was awarded to a Bugatti Type 59

This year’s Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance will be held on 17 August 2025, as always at the Pebble Beach Golf Links in California, a spectacular golf course overlooking the ocean, where exclusive cars and premieres will be on display. The Best of Show 2024 was awarded to a Bugatti Type 59 presented by Fritz Burkard of the Pearl Collection in Zug, Switzerland.

The Goodwood Revival is a three-day festival held every September at the Goodwood circuit since 1998. This year it will take place from 12 to 15 September. The 2024 edition celebrated the 80th anniversary of the D-Day landings with a special parade on the circuit.

The Munich show is called IAA Mobility. The format is the tried and tested city-wide event, so cars are on display both on the fairgrounds and on the streets, along with bicycles, scooters and even digital services for getting around more efficiently and sustainably.

Auto e Moto d’Epoca returns to Bologna from 23 to 26 October with 235,000 square metres of exhibition space spread over 14 pavilions to be discovered through four themed routes (cars; classics; motorcycles and spare parts). The Auto Route is an unrivalled collection of classic cars and motorcycles for sale, from rare collectors’ items to the latest instant classics and youngtimers. There are more than 5,000 cars for sale in six halls and four outdoor areas.

Tokyo Motor Show (29 October-9 November 2025)

The Tokyo Motor Show is one of the most important motor shows in the world and is held every two years between October and November at the Makuhari Messe in Chiba. Organised by the Japan Automobile Manufacturers Association (JAMA), it usually features more concept cars than production cars, as well as commercial vehicles and motorcycles.

The Los Angeles Auto Show (LA Auto Show) takes place every year between late November and early December at the Los Angeles Convention Centre. It boasts 71,000 square metres of exhibition space where dozens of new, increasingly electrified products make their debut.
