Robert De Niro Has Admitted to ‘Berating’ His Former Assistant, Chase Robinson

In court, Robert De Niro admits to doing something to his former aide Chase Robinson.

On Tuesday, Robert De Niro testified for the second time in his New York City lawsuit against his former executive assistant. He admitted to yelling at her and calling her unpleasant names.

According to People, the 80-year-old actor claimed that he “berated her” when asked if he screamed at her for failing to wake him up for a vital meeting by Andrew Macurdy, his lawyer.

He reportedly acknowledged to calling her a “f-king spoiled brat,” “petulant,” and “snippy.”

Nonetheless, he denied having screamed at Robinson.

“I’ve raised my voice,” De Niro admitted. “I don’t yell. You wanna dispute that? That’s one thing I don’t do.”

Several times throughout his testimony, De Niro raised his voice. In one instance, he confronted his former assistant, accusing him of underpaying her relative to a male coworker.

“Every little thing she’s trying to get me on is nonsense!” he exclaimed loudly once more. “Shame on you, Chase Robinson.”

Other allegations that he discriminated against women were dismissed as “ridiculous.”

The Meet the Fockers star reportedly admitted that his girlfriend, Tiffany Chen, “might have been saying” cruel things about Robinson, but he also implied that it was okay because Robinson started the disrespect.

In August 2019, the Oscar winner and Robinson were involved in a legal disagreement after his production company, Canal Productions, launched a million-dollar lawsuit against her for allegedly abusing money for personal spending.

Robinson had been employed by the company since 2008 before abruptly leaving in April 2019. She was the Vice President of Production and Finance.

Because of her seniority, she didn’t need anyone’s permission to accept such extravagant charges.

Robinson agreed to settle a $12 million lawsuit with Canal Productions in exchange for sexism, sexual harassment, and workplace harassment.
