Tyler Christopher, Who Portrayed Nikolas Cassadine on ‘General Hospital’, Passed Away at the Age of 50


Tyler Christopher, who appeared on General Hospital and Days of our Lives, died at the age of 50.

“Tyler passed away this morning following a cardiac event in his San Diego apartment,” Christopher’s General Hospital co-star Maurice Benard announced on Instagram.

“Tyler was a truly talented individual that lit up the screen in every scene he performed and relished bringing joy to his loyal fans through his acting. Tyler was a sweet soul and wonderful friend to all of those who knew him,” Benard concluded.

“Tyler was an advocate for better mental health and substance use treatment who openly spoke about his struggles with bipolar depression and alcohol,” he added.

Christopher portrayed Connor Bishop in the medical drama from 2004 to 2005 and Nikolas Cassadine from 1996 to 2016.

He received four nominations, including one for a special fan award for his attractive pairing with Natalia Livingston. In 2016, he received a Daytime Emmy for his portrayal of Nikolas.

Christopher also appeared on Days of Our Lives between 2001 to 2019, where his depiction of Stefan DiMera won him a Daytime Emmy nomination for outstanding lead actor in a drama series.

Christopher was born in Joliet, Illinois on November 11, 1972. He married Eva Longoria, a Desperate Housewives star, from 2002 to 2004, and Brienne Pedigo, a former ESPN reporter, from 2008 to 2021.

Christopher and Pedigo had two children, Boheme Christopher and Greysun James Christopher.
