Elk River High School sophomore Em Swanson and freshman Sophia Hamilton earned the highest recognition in the 2025 Minnesota Youth Art Month Flag Design Contest.

March is Youth Art Month. As a celebration of the visual arts, the state-level design program recognizes skills developed through visual arts experiences including: problem solving, creativity, observation and communication. The theme for this year’s event is “Healing Through Art.”
