The Utah Division of Arts & Museums has added a literary arts category to its Utah Artist Fellowship program. The new category recognizing writers will join design arts, visual arts and performing arts (this year: theater). The fellowship program has been offered by the agency since 1986.

The Utah Artist Fellowships are $5,000 unrestricted awards to recognize careers of Utah artists demonstrating exceptional creativity in their fields. Selections are based on evaluation of applications, as well as work samples from the past five years. Through these fellowships, UA&M seeks to support professional artists reaching pivotal moments in their artistic practices, and encourage their career advancement and growth.
