Best Buddies International is a non-profit group that works to give people with intellectual or developmental challenges more chances to do things. As part of the program, they pair one person with a “buddy” who has an intellectual or developmental disability so that they can be their friend or guide.

This year, the event honored activist and actress Holly Robinson Peete, the mother of four children. Her son, with NFL player Rodney Peete, is on the autism spectrum.
