Despite having work that was not only qualifying but could have easily swept its particular category, BLACKPINK member Jennie will not be participating in any category for a Grammy 2024.

For the uninitiated, the K-pop sensation was featured in the song One of the Girls from HBO’s The Idol, but despite critical and commercial success, it will not be included in the nominations.

According to Forbes, the song has the potential to compete in a variety of categories, including Best R&B Performance, in which the K-pop artist would have had a shot.

Variety stated that The Weeknd opted out of submitting any of his songs for The Idol in competition because to his historical dislike to the Recording Academy.

Following the rejection of his song Blinding Lights, the singer made it a point to avoid the awards entirely, however he did wind up earning a prize for his appearance on a Kanye West single.
