Families with young children are invited to attend Be My Neighbor Day on April 26 hosted by the Indianapolis Public Library and WFYI.
The family-friendly event, inspired by Daniel Tiger’s Neighborhood, will use fun and innovative ways to promote early literacy and celebrate Día del Niño. Día del Niño, or Children’s Day, is an annual Mexican holiday that recognizes children and their importance in society.
The free event will feature Spanish and English storytime, a temporary tattoo station, sensory hour and a concert from Grammy Award-winning duo 123 Andrés. Every child will receive free books and giveaways.
Children will also have an opportunity to meet and take a photo with Daniel Tiger and write thank you letters to first responders.
Families are encouraged to bring lip balms to donate to Riley Children’s Hospital.
