SIOUX CENTER, Iowa (KTIV) – Dordt University in Sioux Center is planning a celebration of the arts on Tuesday, April 15th.
As one Dordt alumnus debuts her new children’s book, the campus will also host a concert featuring some regional musical groups.
Things will kick off with a launch party for “The Biggest Smallest Thing”, a new book by Dordt alum turned faculty member and children’s author Sara de Waal.
That will begin at 6:15 P.M. in the Campus Center, with de Waal signing and reading from her book at 6:30.
The launch event is free and open to the public, with signed copies of the book available for purchase.
Then at 7:30 in the B.J. Haan Auditorium, the Northwest Iowa Symphony Orchestra, Sioux County Oratorio Chorus will join the Dordt Concert Choir in performing Brahms’ “Requiem”.
This performance was originally scheduled for 2020, but was canceled by the COVID-19 pandemic.
Tickets to the concert are $30, and are available here.
