Tsitsipas vs Khachanov Prediction (QF): 2023 ATP Paris Tennis

Stefanos Tsitsipas has played well this week at the 2023 Rolex Paris Masters. Next, the Greek will face Karen Khachanov in the event’s quarterfinals. Tsitsipas has struggled a lot on tour lately but he has a chance for a good result this weekend in Paris. The Master Series events do offer a lot of ranking points in the late rounds, ranking points that make a big difference even for the top players on tour. My Tsitsipas vs Khachanov prediction focuses on a tennis betting prop involving the first set of this match.

Stefanos Tsitsipas vs Karen Khachanov Head-to-Head Series

Tsitsipas is favored to win this upcoming match at -175. At first glance, the odds are a little surprising because Khachanov, who won a 250-level title, has played better in recent months. But Tsitsipas seems to really have the Russian’s number. On head-to-head meetings, the Greek player is 6-1 against Khachanov (ATP stats). That includes a match-win for an indoor/hard-court match in Rotterdam (Paris is also indoor/hard-court).

Khachanov did win their most recent match. He beat Tsitsipas back at the 2023 Miami Masters 7-6, 6-4. They also had a pretty tough match at the Australian Open this season, a four-setter that included two tiebreakers.

Tsitsipas vs Khachanov Prediction: OVER 9.5 games (1st set)

Khachanov is the lowest-ranked player on tour who is still alive to make the year-end ATP World Tour Finals. There should be no shortage of effort from the Russian as he attempts to track down one of the two spots in the finals that have not yet been claimed.

He would need a title in Paris and then other results to go his way. I think to make the Turin event, he would also have to seek a wild card into either Sofia or Metz next week. But so long as he has a stake in the 1000 points that go to the Paris Masters victor, he is never out of the Race to Turin.

Tsitsipas just beat Alexander Zverev, a strong result for the Greek. Tsitsipas just might be putting his recent slump to bed. But this is an all-in match for Khachanov, meaning he has nothing to save himself for.

Bettors should expect an energetic first set. My recommendation is to take OVER 9.5 games in that set at -188 as I don’t think either player will be breaking the other’s serve early (bet365).
