Lexus will unveil the all-new ES sedan on April 23 at the Shanghai International Automobile Industry Exhibition, one of Asia’s largest automotive events.
First introduced in 1989, the Lexus ES is a midsize luxury sedan that is one of the brand’s longest-running nameplates. Known for its emphasis on ride comfort, interior refinement, and quiet performance, the ES has traditionally appealed to buyers seeking a premium alternative to German rivals in the executive sedan segment. In Canada, the ES remains one of Lexus’s consistently strong performers, with the ES 300h hybrid variant accounting for a growing share of the model’s national sales in recent years.
The automaker describes the redesigned ES as a global flagship model. It is expected to feature updated electrification technologies and further refinements in ride comfort and interior quietness. More than likely, we’ll see an AWD hybrid variant as a new addition. Full details will be shared during a press conference at the event.
Auto Shanghai 2025, which alternates annually with the Beijing Motor Show, is a major venue for international automakers to debut new models and technologies. The ES unveiling underscores Lexus’s ongoing focus on the premium sedan segment and its strategy to expand electrified vehicle offerings.
Technical specifications, powertrain details, and market availability for the new ES have not yet been disclosed.
