Kia has officially introduced the all-new 2026 EV4, a compact electric sedan, at the New York International Auto Show. Designed to expand Kia’s EV portfolio, this four-door model aims to appeal to drivers looking for a practical, well-connected, and affordable vehicle.
The EV4 is Kia’s first global all-electric sedan, entering a segment still primarily dominated by crossovers and SUVs. It is built on the 400V E-GMP modular EV platform, which is already used in other Kia models.
A Distinctive Design

The EV4 features a sleek profile with a low front end, fastback-style roofline, and elongated rear. Its front end showcases vertical LED headlights and Kia’s now-signature Star Map lighting design. Some trims offer cube-shaped LED lights and dynamic welcome lighting. At the rear, vertical taillights, a split roof spoiler, and a minimalist bumper add to its unique appearance. Depending on the version, wheel sizes range from 17 to 19 inches.
The cabin emphasizes simplicity and sustainability, with a floating interface, a two-spoke steering wheel, and eco-conscious materials. Space, functionality, and comfort take centre stage, complemented by custom ambient lighting.
Powertrain and Range
The EV4 will be offered with two battery options:
- A 58.3 kWh battery for the Light FWD version
- An 81.4 kWh battery for the Wind, Wind Premium, GT-Line, and GT-Line Limited versions

All models feature a front-mounted 150 kW motor (around 201 horsepower). The estimated driving range depends on the trim:
- 378 km for the Light version
- 531 km for the Wind trims
- 482 km for the GT-Line and GT-Line Limited
Kia claims fast-charging (DC) times from 10 to 80% in approximately 29 to 31 minutes, depending on the battery size. The NACS charging port is located on the front passenger side.
Driving Dynamics and Technology
The EV4 has a MacPherson strut front suspension tuned for EV performance, and a multi-link rear suspension. Structural reinforcements improve rigidity and handling. The i-Pedal 3.0 system enables one-pedal driving—even in reverse—and works with intelligent regenerative braking for improved energy efficiency. Vehicle-to-Load (V2L) capability allows users to power external devices directly from the vehicle.
Connectivity and Convenience

The digital interface features two 12.3-inch displays and a dedicated 5-inch climate control screen, creating a nearly 30-inch digital panel. Wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are included, and the system supports over-the-air (OTA) updates.
Available features include:
- Digital Key 2.0
- Heated and ventilated front seats
- Dual-zone automatic climate control with rear vents
- Harman Kardon premium sound system
- Heated steering wheel with driver memory function
Safety and Driver Assistance
The EV4 comes equipped with a full suite of driver assistance features, including:
- Highway Driving Assist (HDA)
- Driver Attention Warning
- Lane Keeping Assist
- Intelligent Speed Limit Assist
- Forward Collision-Avoidance Assist
- Remote Smart Parking Assist
- Hands-On Detection (HOD)
