One year after launching the 2025 K4 sedan, Kia unveiled the all-new K4 Hatchback at the 2025 New York International Auto Show. Expected to arrive in Canada by late 2025, this new variant retains the core elements of the sedan while adding a dose of everyday practicality. With its hatchback design and slightly more compact dimensions, it’s geared toward active urban drivers seeking added flexibility. The K4 Hatchback will be available in both base and GT-Line trims.
Refined Styling
While it draws inspiration from the bold design of the K4 sedan, the Hatchback version stands out with a floating roof and a roofline that flows seamlessly into the rear. Its fluid profile reflects Kia’s “Opposites United” design philosophy. Despite being 28 cm shorter than the sedan, rear legroom remains the same, and headroom gains an extra 2.5 cm. Cargo capacity measures 628.6 litres behind the second row and expands to 1,680 litres with the seats folded down.
Shared design cues with the sedan include vertical LED headlights and taillights inspired by the EV9 electric SUV, as well as rear door handles integrated into the C-pillars. A vibrant yellow exterior paint exclusive to the Hatchback adds visual punch.

The GT-Line Turbo trim adds sporty elements like 18-inch wheels, black mirror caps, black wheel arches, side skirts, a flat-bottom three-spoke steering wheel, and paddle shifters. It also comes equipped with cube-style LED projector headlights, LED fog lamps, a power sunroof, and larger 16-inch front brakes.
Tech-Savvy Interior
Inside, the K4 Hatchback carries over the sedan’s digital cabin, highlighted by a pair of screens spanning nearly 30 inches across the dashboard. Depending on the trim, Kia’s Connected Car Navigation Cockpit (ccNC) system is available. Wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are standard, as is wireless phone charging. Optional features include a premium Harman Kardon audio system and Digital Key 2.0, compatible with select smartphones using ultra-wideband (UWB) technology.

Two Engine Choices
The standard K4 Hatchback has a 2.0-litre engine producing 147 horsepower and 132 lb-ft of torque, paired with an Intelligent Variable Transmission (IVT).
The GT-Line Turbo trim gets a 1.6-litre turbocharged engine delivering 190 horsepower and 195 lb-ft of torque, mated to an 8-speed automatic transmission. It also benefits from a retuned suspension for more engaging handling.
Safety and Driver Assistance
Standard safety equipment includes lane-keeping assist (LKA) and adaptive cruise control with stop-and-go functionality.
GT-Line Turbo models offer optional advanced features like evasive steering assist and Highway Driving Assist 2 (HDA-2), which helps maintain lane centring and safe distance on select highways.
Other available features include blind-spot collision warning, rear cross-traffic alert, blind view monitor, a 360-degree surround view camera, and parking assist.
