When it comes to Tom Cruise’s church, Scientology, Simon Pegg has a strict rule: he won’t talk to him about it.
The 53-year-old said on BBC Radio 4’s Desert Island Discs, “I don’t ask him about stuff like that because I feel that would be me abusing the privileged access that I get to him, you know what I mean?”
The actor from Mission: Impossible said that his friendship with the famous person was “very simple and friendly.” We’re friends.”
“It’s always been a very easy relationship. I think you realize, when you meet the person rather than the thicket of mythology that’s built up around them, it’s a different experience,” he said. “I mean, he loves the fame, and he really relishes it, it’s all he knows. It energizes him and spurs him on.”
Cruise is known as one of the most well-known Scientologists.
But David Miscavige, the religious leader, has been accused of a number of wrongdoings, such as taking money from his followers, keeping members away from their families, and bullying and threatening media and critics.
