The Legend Lives On: The World Renowned Elvis Tribute is coming to Alexandria

ALEXANDRIA, La. (KALB) – Elvis will hit the stage at the Laborde Earles Entertainment Center on Saturday, May 31, with The Legend Lives On: The World Renowned Elvis Tribute.

Carmen Taffi had the honor of talking to Charles Stone, Elvis’ tour producer, to find out how the night would go and hear some behind-the-scenes stories.

Moses Snow and Kraig Parker will take on the role of Elvis for one night only to bring fans the songs we all know and love.

“In the middle, what we’re going to do, for Alexandria only, no other city,” Stone said. “Chris Christian, who wrote Love Song of the Year for Elvis. Sam Thompson, who was Elvis’ bodyguard, and Linda Thompson, who was Elvis’ girlfriend, and myself tell stories you’ve never heard.”

Stone said he couldn’t have imagined him being the tour producer for the greatest star in the world.

When Stone was in the 7th grade, Elvis performed a concert in his hometown; today, he looks back on a memory from that time.

“I was an Elvis fan because Elvis got all of the girls, so I couldn’t get a ticket; it was sold out,” Stone said. “How about karma back up to 1970, 71, where I controlled all the tickets in America for all of his shows.”

Stone was with Elvis for the whole 7 years that he performed.

He said one Elvis movie that came out in 2022 was close to perfect in telling the real story.

“It drew so many young people into the Elvis world which weren’t there before, but we say he took all of Elvis’ life, put it in a blender, and that’s what came out, but it was good, it wasn’t bad,” Stone said.

Stone said whether you’re an Elvis fan or not, The Legend Lives On is a wonderful rock and roll performance of Elvis’ life.

“If you’re not a fan, come see it. You will be very well entertained,” Stone said. “You will walk away saying, man, I’m glad I came. I am the hardest critic in the world for any Elvis show, and every night, I am so proud of this show. It’s magical, that’s all I can tell you, it’s magical, so don’t miss it if you can come see it.”

On May 31, one thing Stone and his team can confidently say is Elvis has not left the building.
