Vietnamese electric automaker VinFast will make its second appearance at the Montreal Electric Vehicle Show (MEVS) 2025, showcasing an expanded lineup of all-electric SUVs. The event runs from May 2-4 at the IGA Stadium, where VinFast will display its vehicles at booth #364.

MEVS stands as Canada’s largest electric vehicle exhibition, featuring approximately 70 EV models from 15 automotive manufacturers. The annual show provides Canadians with a comprehensive look at the latest advancements in electric mobility technology.

Expanded Lineup Features Four Models with Up to 450-Kilometre Range

VinFast has significantly expanded its presence since last year’s show, where only the VF 8 and VF 9 models were displayed. This year, attendees will see four distinct models covering multiple vehicle segments: the subcompact VF 6, compact VF 7, midsize VF 8, and full-size three-row VF 9.

The VF 6, VinFast’s subcompact SUV, features a single electric motor producing up to 201 horsepower in its PLUS trim, with a 59.6 kWh battery. The ECO variant delivers 174 horsepower with a targeted WLTP range of 399 kilometres, while the more powerful PLUS variant offers a projected 381-kilometre range.

The compact VF 7 steps up performance significantly, especially in its PLUS configuration with dual electric motors generating 348 horsepower and all-wheel drive. According to VinFast Canada’s website, the VF 7 ECO offers a targeted WLTP range of 450 kilometres, while the PLUS version provides 431 kilometres under the same standards. However, Natural Resources Canada rates the VF 7 PLUS at 336 kilometres, reflecting the typical difference between WLTP estimates (which tend to be more optimistic) and North American regulatory ratings. The ECO variant produces 201 horsepower with front-wheel drive.

VF 8 and VF 9 Test Drives Available

Show visitors can test drive VinFast’s flagship models—the VF 8 midsize SUV and VF 9 full-size SUV. The VF 8 starts at $56,018 and comes in two trims: ECO and PLUS. It features dual electric motors producing up to 402 horsepower and 457 lb-ft of torque. Built on a 2,950 mm wheelbase with overall dimensions of 4,750 x 1,934 x 1,667 mm, the all-wheel-drive VF 8 provides an EPA-rated range of up to 412 kilometres.

The premium VF 9, priced from $77,308, delivers 402 horsepower and an impressive EPA-rated range of up to 531 kilometres. With dimensions of 5,119 x 2,254 x 1,694 mm and a 3,148 mm wheelbase, this full-size SUV accommodates up to seven passengers with available Captain Seat configurations.

Advanced Technology Standard Across VinFast’s Electric SUV Range

All four VinFast models come equipped with comprehensive advanced driver assistance systems, including Highway Assist (Level 2), Lane Centering Assist, Adaptive Cruise Control, and Emergency Lane Keep Assist. The vehicles also feature large infotainment screens—12.9 inches in the VF 6 and VF 7 ECO, and 15 inches in the VF 7 PLUS—with over-the-air update capability.
