Netflix comedy with George Clooney, Adam Sandler coming in December

Little is known about one of the biggest releases that Netflix is planning for late 2025, other than that it’s a “heartbreaking comedy” starring George Clooney, Adam Sandler and Laura Dern.

The streaming giant has now set a release date for director Noah Baumbach’s “Jay Kelly”: December 5. Before its streaming debut, the film is also set to be shown in some cinemas on November 14.

“Everybody knows Jay Kelly, but Jay Kelly doesn’t know himself,” Netflix teased on social media on Tuesday.

“Jay Kelly” is set to mark Clooney’s first return to Netflix since “Wolfs” – his on-screen reunion with Brad Pitt evoking the much-loved “Ocean’s” films – was met with lukewarm reviews.

Baumbach, the director of “Frances Ha,” “White Noise” and “Marriage Story”, wrote the screenplay together with British actor and filmmaker Emily Mortimer. Jim Broadbent and Greta Gerwig are also set to star.
