5 classic car shows to visit in Suffolk this year


Hundreds of cars, bikes and other vehicles will be shown off at shows across the country in the coming months.

Here are five must-visit classic car shows.

1. Cars on the Green

When: Sunday, May 25

The classic car show is returning to the village near Bury St Edmunds for its thirteenth year.

As well as vintage cars, other vehicles on show at the free admission event include motorbikes.

2. Rotary Classic Car Show

Where: Culford School, Culford, Bury Saint Edmunds IP28 6TX

When: Sunday, July 13

More than 500 cars are set to take over the parkland in the annual show which is raising money for East Anglia’s Children’s Hospices (EACH) and other charities.

There will also be a range of stalls selling local produce, food and trinkets.

3. Ipswich Heritage Street Market and Show

Where: St Peter’s Street, Ipswich, IP1 1XF

When: Sunday, September 14 

The heritage event will have a classic car show made up of 15 vehicles manufactured between 1968 and 1985.

It will be accompanied by a selection of market stalls with everything from local food to handmade crafts.

4. Festival of Classic & Sports Cars

When: Sunday, August 3

More than 1,000 classic cars are expected to attended the annual event at the historic estate.

Last year, the oldest vehicle on display was a 1914 Ford Model T and the latest sports cars included a Chevrolet Corvette.

5. Classic and Sports Cars at the Bridge

When: Monday, August 25

The event, run by Cancer Support Suffolk, is returning following a successful inaugural event last year.

A range of classic, sports and vintage cars will be displayed with a backdrop of the Orwell Bridge and River Orwell.
