7 classic car events to look forward to in Norfolk


Here are some to get in the diary.

1. Pageant of Motoring

Where: The Royal Parkland, Sandringham Estate, PE35 6EN 

When: May 25, 10am to 5pm

Cost: £18 in advance, £25 on the day

The event will feature an impressive array of classic vehicles, a diverse range of vintage traders, vehicle manufacturer stands, live music and main arena activities.

Attendees can also indulge in a variety of food stalls and explore a craft and vintage fair.

Several specially selected Royal Vehicles will be displayed at the show in their own marquee.

2. Great Yarmouth Wheels Festival

Where: Marine Parade, Great Yarmouth, NR30 2EJ

When: June 21 and 22

Cost: Free

The spectacle attracted nearly 60,000 visitors in 2024, marking the busiest Saturday Great Yarmouth’s seafront had experienced in years.

The area will be transformed into a celebration of everything ‘wheels’ in a two-day extravaganza of cars, stunts, superbikes and classic cars.

Organised by Visit Great Yarmouth, acts will perform throughout the weekend.

Last year saw more than 500 cars and bikes lined up along the seafront for a two-and-a-half-kilometer-long vehicle display, stretching from the Arc Cinema to the end of the Golden Mile at the Pleasure Beach.

Where: Stody Lodge Gardens, Stody, Melton Constable, NR24 2ER

When: May 18

Cost: £9

Stody Lodge Gardens will once again welcome a wide range of classic vehicles for its seventh annual Classic Vehicle Day.

All pre-2000 classic vehicles, including coaches, tractors, and motorbikes, are invited to this wonderful day of motors, food, music and charity teas.

More than 200 Harley-Davidsons and other bikes will conclude their Distinguished Gentleman’s Ride at Stody Lodge as part of the event.

4. Mundesley Motor Show

Where: Gold Park, Beach Road, Mundesley, NR11 8BG

When: July 27, 11am to 4pm

Cost: £2, children go free

Showcasing some of the best in vintage, classic and retro cars and bikes on the north Norfolk coast, the show returns for 2025 to raise money for local charities.

Hundreds of classic cars and bikes will be on display, with entertainment from the Poppyland Radio roadshow, a selection of local traders and a wide range of food and drink.

Parking is available in the local pay and display car parks and the site is served by a regular bus service from North Walsham and Cromer.

5. Autojumble and Classic Motor Show

Where: Arminghall Carboot ​Sale, Old Stoke Road, NR14 8SQ

When: Four dates between May and September: May 17, June 21, July 26, and September 6.

Cost: £3 (free for under-16s), or £6 for early bird access from 7am

Now in its fifth year, the event has grown steadily since it launched in 2020, and organiser Vernon Ellis says last year saw thousands of visitors at each show, with around 500 classic vehicles on display and up to 150 autojumble stalls per event.

Drivers of pre-1999 classic cars, motorbikes and campervans can enter for free and car clubs are welcome.

There is free parking and a wide range of street food and refreshments on offer throughout the day.

6. Norwich Classic Vehicle Club Annual Show

Where: Strumpshaw Steam Museum, Old Hall, Strumpshaw, NR13 4HR

When: June 22, from 10am to 4.30pm

Cost: £10, under-16s go free

The Norwich Classic Vehicle Club Family Day returns to Strumpshaw Steam Museum, near Brundall.

There will be hundreds of vintage bikes, classic cars dating up to 2001 and supercars of all ages on display.

Visitors can also enjoy trade and club stands, a children’s funfair, game stalls, a display arena, food and drink stalls, an autojumble and access to the steam museum.

7. Thusford Gala Day

Where: Laurel Farm, The Street, Fakenham, NR21 0AS

When: July 6

Cost: £15, under-12s go free

For the fifth year running, thousands will flock to a north Norfolk attraction as a popular day out makes a highly anticipated return. 

Ticketholders will be able to enjoy a spectacle of steam engines, mechanical organs and vintage vehicles, including classic cars and aircraft.

This year will be the biggest variety of exhibitors, with around 200 heading to the venue for the day and some expected to take part in a steam parade around Thursford’s car park.

Vintage fairground rides, face painting and a mini funfair will keep children entertained, with local foodie vendors including The Bucket List.
