Technicolor: A Celebration of Black Musical Moments in Films

Technicolor” takes iconic musical moments from classic Black films and lights up our season with a bold, vibrant tribute to the magic of Black cinema! As the second production in our lineup, this original work honors unforgettable scenes from films like “Stormy Weather,” “The Wiz,” “The Color Purple,” “School Daze,” and more—reimagined with breathtaking visuals, dazzling costumes, and unforgettable performances.  

A Soldier’s Play

April 4 – 26, 2026

“A Soldier’s Play” is a gripping adaptation of the acclaimed 1984 film. This powerful production dives deep into the complexities of race, duty, and justice within the military, exploring the mysterious murder of a Black sergeant on a Louisiana Army base during World War II.

FREE parking is available in the parking lot adjacent to the building and diagonal to ArtsCentric, across the street. There’s also street parking available in the surrounding neighborhood. The entrance is located on 26th Street, between N. Howard and Huntingdon Ave. Our space is to the right of Seawall.

We aim to enrich lives by addressing racial inequity in the performing arts, assist low-to-moderate-income artists of all ages to receive training for performance, education, and administrative careers in the arts and provide affordable access to the arts and cultural enrichment activities.
