Twenty-four talented students from the Sullivan BOCES Career & Technical Education Center recently showcased their skills at the prestigious New York State SkillsUSA Competition in Syracuse, NY. Competing against top students from across the state, two local students earned honors for their outstanding performance.
Serenity Moore (Liberty Central School) took home third place in Cake Decorating, while Cathy Flores (Liberty Central School) earned third place in Nail Care. Their creativity, technical skill, and dedication earned them a spot on the podium in highly competitive events.
“Competing at the state level takes courage, preparation, and a true commitment to excellence,” said Kathleen Wilcox, Principal at the Sullivan BOCES Career & Tech Center. “We are incredibly proud of all 24 students who represented Sullivan BOCES with professionalism and pride.”
SkillsUSA is a national organization that empowers students to become world-class workers, leaders, and responsible citizens through hands-on competitions in skilled trades and leadership events.
