Visual Arts Center of New Jersey Elects Brett Oberman and Liz Rubinstein to the Board of Trustees

(SUMMIT, NJ) — At its most recent board meeting on Monday, April 15, 2025, the Visual Arts Center of New Jersey (VACNJ) elected two new members to its board of trustees: Brett Oberman and Liz Rubinstein. Their terms will begin immediately and will run through June 2028.

“We’re delighted to welcome Brett and Liz to the Art Center’s Board of Trustees,” said Melanie Cohn, Executive Director of VACNJ. “Brett’s extensive experience will bring valuable strategic insights to our board, and Liz’s proven expertise and passion for the arts will be instrumental as we continue to expand our reach and impact.”

Brett Oberman is a serial entrepreneur who has founded, scaled, and sold companies across a variety of industries. He launched his first venture while still an undergraduate at Harvard, where he earned degrees in both Physics and Chemistry. He now primarily focuses on his role as co-founder of FullSky Partners, which helps advance the mission of companies pursuing breakthroughs in healthcare, such as new therapeutics, diagnostics, or approaches to improve health equity. Brett also serves as a digital health sector lead for the Harvard Business School Alumni Angels of New York.

Liz Rubinstein is the Executive Director of Product Portfolio Operations for JP Morgan Chase, where she leads product strategy across multiple lines of business. Prior to this, Liz spent 15 years at American Express in product management, marketing, and business strategy roles, where she successfully launched new products, led omnichannel campaigns, and built scalable software solutions. Liz brings deep expertise in program leadership, organizational strategy, product development and marketing execution. She is known for her ability to bridge cross-functional teams and drive results. A lifelong advocate for the arts, Liz’s passion was sparked in childhood and nurtured through museum internships and managing art galleries. She has held leadership positions in corporate employee networks and volunteers locally in her children’s schools. Liz holds a BA from Cornell University and an MBA from NYU Stern. She lives in Maplewood, NJ with her husband and three children.

Recognized as a leading non-profit arts organization, the Art Center’s renowned Studio School, acclaimed exhibitions, and educational outreach initiatives serve thousands of youths, families, seniors, and people with special needs annually.
