The Armory Center for the Arts in Pasadena is preparing to welcome art enthusiasts and community supporters to its biennial Off the Wall art auction and benefit on Saturday, May 31. The event will take place from 6:00 to 9:00 p.m. at the Armory’s historic location at 145 North Raymond Avenue.
Off the Wall will feature more than 30 works by contemporary artists, available for silent auction. Early bidding opens May 21, giving attendees and supporters the opportunity to preview and bid on pieces ahead of the in-person event. The auction is expected to draw both seasoned collectors and those new to the art scene, all eager to support the Armory’s mission.
Guests at Off the Wall can look forward to an evening of open bars, gourmet offerings from local restaurants, and selections from some of Los Angeles’ most popular food trucks. Music will be provided by KCRW DJ and Armory alum Ro “Wyldeflower” Contreras, promising a lively atmosphere throughout the night.
Funds raised from Off the Wall will directly support the Armory’s education and exhibition programs, which serve children, teens, and adults across the region. This year, 10% of net proceeds will also go to the Armory’s emergency relief fund, established to assist staff and teaching artists who lost their homes in the recent Eaton Fire. The need for community support is especially urgent this year, as the organization faces the loss of significant federal funding.
Founded in 1989, the Armory Center for the Arts is a nonprofit visual arts organization dedicated to presenting exhibitions by forward-thinking contemporary artists and providing artist-led education programs. The Armory’s mission is to nurture the community and its young people by advancing equity and social justice through art.
