Police identify driver killed in crash involving car, tractor-trailer on I-93 in Derry


Police on Friday identified the person killed in a crash on Interstate 93 in Derry on Wednesday night.The victim was identified as Maya Muchnik, 78, of Needham, Massachusetts. State police said a tractor-trailer collided with a car on the southbound side near Exit 4 just after 6 p.m. Wednesday.Police said the tractor-trailer rear-ended a Lexus sedan, and the driver was killed. Fire officials said there was no water immediately available, but once tankers were brought in, they were able to put out the fire in about 16 minutes."You don't know what's going to happen, so just don't take any day for granted and always live it like your last because you don't know what's going to happen," witness Alexus Connor said.Police said the driver of the tractor-trailer was a 26-year-old from North Carolina.
