SOUTH HARBOR, Maine (WGME) — A police department in Maine says it helped rescue an owl after it was struck by a car on Friday.
The South Harbor Police Department says an officer came across a car with its 4-way lights flashing.
The officer got out to assist the driver and the driver gave him a small saw-whet owl that had been struck by the car.
Southwest Harbor police say the owl is now in a box, in a cool, dark place in their office while they wait for a Maine Game Warden to come grab it and bring it to a rehabber.
