The National Capital Chesapeake Bay Chapter of the National Academy of Television Arts & Sciences announces that Monumental Sports & Entertainment (MSE) was nominated for 21 Capital Emmy Awards across several categories, including Overall Excellence and Community Service. The 21 nominations are a new all-time high for MSE and recognize groups and individuals in front of and behind the camera across Monumental Sports Network (MNMT) and MSE’s productions team for their work in 2024.
“We are incredibly honored to receive a record 21 Capital Emmy nominations this year, including ‘Overall Excellence’ for our state-of-the-art media platform and a recognition of our organization’s impactful community service efforts,” says Zach Leonsis, President of Media & New Enterprises at MSE. “These nominations span a wide variety of teams and talent across the entire MSE family—from our broadcast and production crews to our on-air personalities—and reflect the dedication, creativity, and community spirit that define our organization.”

MSE and MNMT (previously NBC Sports Washington) have a long history of success with the Capital Emmys. The organization has won nearly 50 Capital Emmys and has received almost 100 nominations over the past dozen years. Last year, MSE gained 16 nominations and took home six Capital Emmy Awards.
The Capital Emmys take place annually and honor the achievements in the television and media industry across all media platforms within the national capital area. Winners for this year’s awards will be announced during the 67th Emmy Awards Gala, scheduled for June 21 at the Bethesda North Marriott Hotel and Conference Center in Bethesda, MD.
